COMMON QUESTIONS
Review weather related information for the U.S.A.
This section answers questions for international
travelers about weather in the United States of America.
U.S. Weather
The climates and seasons vary throughout the U.S. and even within states,
so you should definitely learn something about the climate and weather
for the area in which you will be staying.
For example, in March, the temperature in Southern Florida may be 75°
Fahrenheit (24° Celsius), while the temperature in Philadelphia, PA
is 35° F (2° C). Visit weather websites such as The
Weather Channel and the City/State pages
to decide what types of clothing you will need to pack.
NOTE: Packing as little as possible makes travel easier.
Bring comfortable shoes in case you must do a lot of walking, lightweight
clothing for the summer when days are warm and nights are cool and cold-weather
clothing (heavier sweaters and pants/jackets) for winter. A light sweater
or coat may make you more comfortable in some air conditioned businesses
or in hospital/clinic waiting areas.
