Mailing a package in the U.S. is relatively easy. United States post
offices are located in nearly every neighborhood or community, and transactions
can take place online or in person.
Addressing a Package or Letter
Include the following in your destination address in the U.S.:
1st line: Recipient's Name
2nd line: Recipient's company name, street address, post office
box number, rural route number and box number, or highway contract route
number.
In addition, include the following in the address line (2nd line):
´ Suffix: AVE (Avenue), ST (Street), DR (Drive), RD (Road), PL (Place),
CIR (Circle), etc.
´ Directional: N (North), S (South), E (East), W (West), NE, NW, SE, or
SW
´ Locator: RM (room), STE (Suite), APT (Apartment) number, etc.
Last line: Recipient's city, state, and ZIP code or ZIP+4 code
if known. The country name, in capital letters, should be on the last
line of the address for international mail only.

Other Helpful Tips:
´ Capitalize everything, using plain block letters.
´ Omit all punctuation in the address, except the hyphen in the ZIP+4
code.
´ Use common abbreviations.

The United States Postal Service can send your mail and packages via
express, priority, first-class or standard mail, each with different speeds
and rates. To access their consumer guide to postal services and products

Postal Service website. Other private parcel services include Federal
Express and United Parcel
Service (UPS).
