Mailing a package in the U.S. is relatively easy. United States post offices are located in nearly every neighborhood or community, and transactions can take place online or in person.

Addressing a Package or Letter
Include the following in your destination address in the U.S.:
1st line: Recipient's Name
2nd line: Recipient's company name, street address, post office box number, rural route number and box number, or highway contract route number.

In addition, include the following in the address line (2nd line):
´ Suffix: AVE (Avenue), ST (Street), DR (Drive), RD (Road), PL (Place), CIR (Circle), etc.
´ Directional: N (North), S (South), E (East), W (West), NE, NW, SE, or SW
´ Locator: RM (room), STE (Suite), APT (Apartment) number, etc.

Last line: Recipient's city, state, and ZIP code or ZIP+4 code if known. The country name, in capital letters, should be on the last line of the address for international mail only.
